Position: Project Architect

Purpose: Lead the technical design elements of projects, Revit drafting, research, and code analysis; coordinate project consultants; assist in project management duties with Associates and Principals; and to mentor and direct the work of junior staff.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with clients and represent GYDE in a professional manner. 

  • Mentor junior staff on technical aspects of the project and profession

  • Travel (moderate amount) to project sites for site analysis, programming, measuring, and construction observation. 

  • Assist Associates and Principals in developing and maintaining contract/proposal tasks and budgets. 

  • Lead the coordination and production of bid and construction administration documentation. 

  • Act as an expert resource in project design, reviewing Revit models and documents, hand drawings, and modeling produced through all project phases to ensure GYDE standard of design is met 

  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively and proactively with peers, employees, and management. 

  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the success of GYDE

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Required:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture 

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience 

  • Current knowledge of professional codes, laws, computer applications, and trends 

 

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION: 

Required:  

  • Architectural license with ability to receive Wyoming license.  

  • Valid Wyoming driver’s license 

  • Ability to drive a vehicle for company business and comply with Motor Vehicle Policy 

 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILL: 

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Sketch-up. Enscape, Rhino or other rendering tools are a bonus 

  • Proficiency with MS Office 

  • Proficiency with at least one other design software (e.g. PhotoShop, Illustrator, In Design, etc.) 

  • Ability to analyze multiple complex problems and implement technical and creative solutions 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills  

  • Ability to work in a team 

  • Strong organizational skills and graphic ability 

  • Understanding of basic construction methodology 

  • Ability to create construction details 

  • Knowledge of technical specifications and general conditions 

  • Understanding of construction costs, building systems, and construction sequencing 

  • Ability to develop a complete set of construction documents 

  • Ability to nurture existing client relationships to encourage return clients 

  • Ability to lead and mentor staff 

  • Excellent customer/client service skills and multi-tasking ability
