Position: Designer I/II (Architectural Intern) 

Purpose: Produce accurate Revit work that meets GYDE standards and supports the senior design staff in all tasks need to successfully complete a project. This position is intended to expose the Designer to all aspects of the design process and business of architecture. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with clients and represent GYDE in a professional manner. 

  • Produce design and Revit drawings with accuracy and in a timely manner. 

  • Accompany senior design staff to project sites, for observation, site analysis, documentation, and learning opportunities. 

  • Prepare design presentation documents under the supervision of a senior staff member. 

  • Assist in researching, organizing, and coordinating information.  

  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively and proactively with peers, employees, and management. 

  • Provide other duties as necessary to support the success of the company.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Required:  

  • Current knowledge of professional codes, laws, computer applications, and trends 

  • Strongly Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture 

 

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION: 

Required:  

  • Valid Wyoming driver’s license 

  • Ability to drive a vehicle for company business and comply with GYDE's Motor Vehicle Policy 

 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILL: 

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Sketch-up. Enscape, Rhino or other rendering tools are a bonus 

  • Familiarity with MS Office 

  • Proficiency with at least one other design software (e.g. PhotoShop, Illustrator, In Design, etc.) 

  • Ability to nurture existing client relationships to encourage repeat clients 

  • Ability to analyze problems and suggest creative solutions 

  • Ability to work in a team 

  • Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills  

  • Good organizational skills and graphic ability 

  • Understanding of requirements for a complete set of construction documents 

  • Knowledge of building systems and basic construction methodology 

  • Excellent customer/client service skills and multi-tasking abilities
